Franky's Grill is the brainchild of Francois Geurds, you know.. FG-2-star-Francois Geurds.. The whole place feels like a giant middle finger to whatever a restaurant is “supposed” to be. Franky’s done proving himself. Now he’s just doing whatever the hell he wants. And it’s perfect.
Wines? You order a glass or bottle, fixed prices, stroll over to the tasting bar, sip, swirl and pick your poison. No sommelier sermons, just drink what you like. Simple. Perfect!
Half the restaurant is the kitchen. Grills, BBQs, wood-fired beasts. It’s a playground of fire and steel. What comes out? Bombastic, ferociously flavoured food. Fat, spice, herbs, broths.. it’s all dialed to eleven. Strong, bold, rich. Yes, it’s a lot. But it’s fucking delicious. Just take it easy with the ordering. Oh and everything is just served in the pan it was cooked in. Because why not..
Service isn’t overly polished. It’s friendly, relaxed, a little cheeky, but definitly professional, which suits the place.
Maybe just one remark: the high tables. Why? Truth be told, they're comfortable. Still. Why?
